Jewelry That Works for Any Occasion

I would never claim to be a fashion expert, but I’ve picked up a few personal tips and pointers about which accessories work with which outfits. Most women prefer to pick out the wardrobe first before picking out jewelry that complements the look. Depending on the occasion, I’ll go with a silver or gold theme, never mixing the two. Some say that gold is overly flashy in an informal setting, and I tend to agree.
In my experience, sterling silver goes with practically any gesilver hoop earringsm stones, and it is subtle enough to pair with most clothing ensembles. My pair of silver hoop earrings sees frequent use, especially when I need something to accentuate the features of my face. Whether I’m out on the town with that special someone or dressing to impress at a fancy dinner party, I know the silver earrings won’t steer me wrong.

One of the staples of any woman’s wardrobe is the classic black dress. The garment is touted for its sleek appearance and versatility. Although the “little black dress” literally goes with anything, there are few jewelry options that fully complement the piece by having black in their design.
Originally used in ancient Greek and Rome, onyx is one of the oldest used forms of quartz. Today you can find quality black onyx earrings and rings to accompany any black ensemble. Add rich black color to your jewelry while maintaining elegance with this ancient gemstone.
A Brief History of Amethyst

Amethyst is a form of quartz that has attained a violet hue. The ancient Egyptians believed that amethyst gems would keep them from experiencing the ill effects of intoxication. Over the years, amethysts became popular centerpieces for necklaces. For example, Europeans donned amethyst amulets during wartime, believing the stone would spare them from physical harm.
All superstitions aside, amethyst earrings, necklaces and bracelets remain indispensable fashion accessories to this day. At least one aspect of these stunning stones remained a mystery until just a few years ago. Scientists managed to pinpoint the exact cause for amethyst’s vibrant color scheme: iron impurities. In any case, amethyst jewelry remains an impressive vision to behold.

When I was in high school there was one accessory that a teenage girl couldn’t live without – a pair of hoop earrings. These couldn’t be just any earrings; they had to be sterling silver hoop earrings. There was no chance of getting in the popular crowd if you didn’t have these.
I remember the day that I got my first pair of silver hoop earrings. I was at the mall with my mom, who up until that point hadn’t allowed me to wear the beloved accessory, when she told me I could pick out anything I wanted for my birthday. When I came back with the forbidden hoop earrings she just shrugged and paid for them at the register. That year I was the most popular girl in my class. I credit the earrings
Make Shopping A Breeze: Plan In Advance

Some people prefer to shop alone. They refuse to be bothered by other people’s opinions. They know what they want and they will stick to that. There are others who cannot decide on things. They need somebody to push them into buying something they never planned on getting at all.
I went shopping with a friend who wanted a pair of gold hoop earrings. She saw it on TV, actually worn by a celebrity. We went around looking at boxes and boxes of hoop earrings. There were medium and really large ones. The thin ones were not exactly what she was looking for. Finally, she found it. A medium sized loop pair of earrings that looked solid but was actually lightweight. Shopping is a breeze when you know exactly what you want.
My Mother’s Jewelry

My mother always had the most amazing jewelry collection. We would sit in front of her large bedroom mirror and arrange her jewelry around us on the ground so that we can look at each one individually. Her favorite piece was her gold hoop earrings that she would wear out with my dad.
I liked to see her so happy and dressed up. My dad never forgot that about her, that she liked to go out so much and even though we all knew what a home body he was, he would always take time out of his life to do something that made my mom so happy.
