Make Shopping A Breeze: Plan In Advance

Some people prefer to shop alone.  They refuse to be bothered by other people’s opinions. They know what they want and they will stick to that.  There are others who cannot decide on things.  They need somebody to push them into buying something they never planned on getting at all.

I went shopping with a friend who wanted a pair of gold hoop earrings.  She saw it on TV, actually worn by a celebrity.  We went around looking at boxes and boxes of hoop earrings.  There were medium and really large ones.  The thin ones were not exactly what she was looking for.  Finally, she found it.  A medium sized loop pair of earrings that looked solid but was actually lightweight.  Shopping is a breeze when you know exactly what you want.

Don’t Be Afraid To Try Everything

posted by StoneFoxy 6:05 PM 18/02/2009

emeraldring-jewelryboxjewellery.jpgAre you shopping for jewelry?  Be adventurous. Shop with a friend and don’t be afraid to try everything. Browse the display together. You never know, a second opinion can be useful. Examine the rows of rings. You will find plain ones or more elaborate pieces studded with diamond.  An emerald ring for instance can make a perfect accessory to your new evening gown.

Look around some more.  There are sapphires and pearls attached to chains.  Check out the dangling earrings.  Laugh together.  Your great big smile will be a nice complement to the piece of jewelry you decided to buy.

Rings come in various materials. Depending on what their purposes will be, the choice is up to the buyer or user. For engagement or wedding rings, 14k yellow gold rings seem ideal. Quality wise, they will prove to be a wise investment. Since a 24k gold ring, being the highest quality of gold, is very expensive, having a 14k yellow gold ring will be a sensible replacement.

Aside from engagement and wedding rings, there are also friendship rings, anniversary rings and practically any ring that will symbolize anything between two people.  14k gold rings will always serve their purpose. In any circumstance, owning a 14k gold ring will always be satisfying and worthwhile for its owner. It really only depends on the taste and needs of a person. As some may say, whatever the case, you will always be a winner.

Make Wise Choices When Buying Jewelry

posted by StoneFoxy 3:51 PM 27/01/2009

14kwhitegoldnecklace-jewelryboxjewellery.jpgMost women are fond of jewelry. The most popular pieces of jewelry are made of gold but since yellow gold is expensive, jewelry made from white gold has been widely accepted. A 14k white gold necklace is easily affordable for most women. An 18k white gold is the highest quality of gold. Therefore a 14k white gold necklace is a great buy. As a gift, this is ideal for most men and women for special occasions.

Necklaces vary in their worth and designs. To enhance their beauty and attractiveness, pendants are added. There are a lot of pendants to choose from. But eventually, it is the value of the 14k gold necklace that spells the difference. Choosing to have a 14k gold necklace, whether for personal use or as a gift, will always be a good and wise choice.

Times Are A Changin’

white-gold-opal-ring

Why is that you see so many older women wearing gold rings on every finger? Maybe this is a trend that I just never got wind of because I prefer to wear simple, yet classic pieces of jewelry. My favorite piece of jewelry is a white gold and opal ring that my father gave me. I love the creamy, shimmering white of the opal and the neat shine of the silver backing.

I feel confident in saying that I think many other younger women are like me in that they don’t want to wear gaudy, bulky jewelry. Wearing just one or two pieces of classic jewelry can get you more compliments than 20 cheaply-made gold rings. Many women these days are also gravitating away from traditional gems, like diamonds and pearls, towards rare gems, like opals and emeralds.

14k gold bracelet

14k-gold-bracelet

Gold is a mainstay in jewelry. The value of gold is measured by karat. A higher karat gold is not necessarily higher quality than a lower karat gold.

A 14k gold bracelet is said to be better that an 18k bracelet. It is said that 14k is more durable because the gold is not too soft. Because 14k is harder than 18k, it is less likely to scratch and be deformed. Thus, it is the better choice.

Sapphires for Sadness?

posted by StoneFoxy 3:05 PM 10/10/2008

Did you know that that sapphire ring you wear on your finger could be affecting your quality of life? Many people don’t know this, and some of those who do just don’t believe it. But, many astrologists and alternative medicine practitioners do. They believe that the sapphire enhances creativity, intuition and meditation. Sapphires come in almost every color of the rainbow, from the traditional blue, to the rarer orange sapphire.

Sapphires are said help to heal physical ailments like high fevers, inflammation, cancer, hearing problems, and burns. Sapphires can also help improve the mental clarity of those who wear them. Students, for example, may try wearing a piece of sapphire jewelry when studying to maintain better focus. Depression has also been known to be treated through the use of sapphires.

Lost Ring

Have you ever had the misfortune to loose a peice of jewellery?  I have!  I lost a 14K yellow gold ring and then discovered where it was. Down the drain pipe!! Trying explaining that one!

It was a gift, the most beautiful marquise diamond ring. My husband gave it to me and now I had to explain where it was and how it got there.! “Well, He loves me so maybe he won’t be that mad, he’ll just get it out” I thought.

When he found out what had happened he just looked at me and proceeded to retrieve the ring. I guess that’s where he got the idea that jewelry boxes were both decorative and functional.
