Rock Stars and Ball Players Jewelry

posted by Pipi 10:36 PM 09/09/2008

I hear the Beatles liked to wear 14K yellow gold rings. I guess it must have been in vogue then.  As the years have gone by it seems all the Rock Stars seem to wear gold rings. Is this class or are they setting a standard for all other Rock Stars!!!

14K yellow gold necklaces and chains seem to be worn by all Basket Ball Stars and Baseball Players as a sign of wealth.  Is this a carry over from ancient days!!!

My Mother’s Jewelry

My mother always had the most amazing jewelry collection. We would sit in front of her large bedroom mirror and arrange her jewelry around us on the ground so that we can look at each one individually. Her favorite piece was her gold hoop earrings that she would wear out with my dad.

I liked to see her so happy and dressed up. My dad never forgot that about her, that she liked to go out so much and even though we all knew what a home body he was, he would always take time out of his life to do something that made my mom so happy.

Birth Stones

posted by StoneFoxy 5:23 PM 25/08/2008

sappppp.gif Birth stones are a tradition that assigns a precious stone to a person’s month of birth in the Gregorian calendar, which is the most widely used calendar in the world. Each month is symbolized by the stone assigned to it. Sometimes this is called the birthday stone, but that term is rarely used because of how confusing it is with anniversary presents. Sapphire rings are a common birthstone present that is still a crowd favorite.

There is a poem that goes along with each month and the stones that are used in English speaking countries tend to be the same. Here are a list of months and their birthstone equivalents:

Month Modern Birthstone(s)
January garnet
February amethyst
March aquamarine
April diamond
May emerald
June moonstone, pearl
July ruby
August peridot
September sapphire
October opal, tourmaline
November topaz, citrine
December turquoise, blue topaz
