Times Are A Changin’

white-gold-opal-ring

Why is that you see so many older women wearing gold rings on every finger? Maybe this is a trend that I just never got wind of because I prefer to wear simple, yet classic pieces of jewelry. My favorite piece of jewelry is a white gold and opal ring that my father gave me. I love the creamy, shimmering white of the opal and the neat shine of the silver backing.

I feel confident in saying that I think many other younger women are like me in that they don’t want to wear gaudy, bulky jewelry. Wearing just one or two pieces of classic jewelry can get you more compliments than 20 cheaply-made gold rings. Many women these days are also gravitating away from traditional gems, like diamonds and pearls, towards rare gems, like opals and emeralds.

marquise-diamond-ringThinking of a beautiful ring for your lady? Then a marquise diamond ring might be the perfect ring for her. A marquise is actually a lady of nobility that ranks higher than a countess and lower than a duchess. A marquise exudes elegance and style.

This is so with this marquise jewelry design. It is known for its elegant design. If your lady prefers classic styles over trendy ones, then this is the design for her.

Have you ever had the misfortune to loose a peice of jewellery?  I have!  I lost a 14K yellow gold ring and then discovered where it was. Down the drain pipe!! Trying explaining that one!

It was a gift, the most beautiful marquise diamond ring. My husband gave it to me and now I had to explain where it was and how it got there.! “Well, He loves me so maybe he won’t be that mad, he’ll just get it out” I thought.

When he found out what had happened he just looked at me and proceeded to retrieve the ring. I guess that’s where he got the idea that jewelry boxes were both decorative and functional.

Rock Stars and Ball Players Jewelry

posted by Pipi 10:36 PM 09/09/2008

I hear the Beatles liked to wear 14K yellow gold rings. I guess it must have been in vogue then.  As the years have gone by it seems all the Rock Stars seem to wear gold rings. Is this class or are they setting a standard for all other Rock Stars!!!

14K yellow gold necklaces and chains seem to be worn by all Basket Ball Stars and Baseball Players as a sign of wealth.  Is this a carry over from ancient days!!!

Garnet Ring

For their Grandmothers birthday, her grandchildren gave her a birthstone ring.  The stone symbolizes the month of her birth in the gregorian calendar. Their Grandmothers birthday is in late January.  They selected a Garnet ring for her.
